Lost Pet Flyer Example & Tips

Example of a Lost Dog Flyer with text "Lost Dog! Yellow Lab Neutered Male. Brown Leather Collar, wearing Sacramento County License and Microchip Tags. Last seen January 1, 2008, vicinity of Bradshaw and Keifer" Lists phone numbers with photo and big text saying "Reward!"

Tips on creating a lost pet flyer:

  • Describe what the pet is, looks like and gender
  • Describe any collar and tag info
  • Note when the pet was last seen and where
  • Inclue a clear photo of your pet
  • List phone numbers where they can contact you
  • Note if there are any rewards fro return

Important:

Do NOT put your pet’s name, your name or your address on the flyer! Doing so makes it much easier for an unscrupulous person wishing to “keep” your pet to replace your pet’s license and/or microchip contact information with their own, thus falsely transferring ownership.
