The Roy C. Marcum Animal Care Faire is more than just an event… it’s a celebration of compassion, community, and the incredible bond we share with animals right here in Sacramento County.
Join us this spring for a lively, feel-good day where the community comes together to honor Roy Marcum's service while making a real difference for shelter pets. You’ll stroll through the vibrant property with local vendors from across Sacramento and the surrounding region, catch exciting animal demonstrations, enjoy live entertainment and music, and unwind in our beer and wine garden.
Bring the whole family because there will be activities happening all day long to keep everyone smiling. Whether you’re an animal lover, a supporter of local businesses, or just looking for a fun way to spend the day, there’s something here for you.
Best of all, every dollar raised helps power the lifesaving programs and services at Bradshaw Animal Shelter, supporting the animals and people who depend on us.
Come for the fun, stay for the cause, and be part of a day that truly makes an impact.

Roy C. Marcum served the Sacramento County community for 14 years as an Animal Control Officer. He was known at the shelter for his positive spirit, optimism, and unwavering dedication to animals and the people who loved them.
On November 28, 2012, Roy was tragically killed while responding to a call in Galt, California, to rescue pets from a residence believed to be vacant. While carrying out his duty to protect animals in need, he was fatally shot through the front door of the home.
The Roy C. Marcum Animal Care Faire is held annually in memory of his life, his service, and his commitment to animal welfare. This event honors Roy’s legacy by continuing the work he believed in—protecting animals, supporting pet owners, and strengthening the community through compassion.
