Bradshaw Animal Shelter is Sacramento County’s main shelter for lost and homeless animals – and one of Northern California’s largest. As an open-admission municipal shelter, we never turn away an animal in need. Our dedicated team provides every pet with a safe, caring place until they find a loving home.
We are here to keep both animals and people safe and healthy through education and compassionate care. Our goal is to save lives, improve animal well-being, and support our community with trusted animal services.
We provide a wide range of services to help both animals and people in Sacramento County:
Pet Adoption – Connecting cats, dogs, and other animals with loving families.
Lost & Found Pets – Reuniting lost pets with their owners.
Animal Protection – Responding to concerns, investigating cruelty, and keeping the community safe.
Pet Healthcare – Offering low-cost vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter services.
Pet Licensing – Helping identify lost pets quickly and promote responsible pet ownership.
